This past week, YouHere Productions has been working with the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America to create a video for their charity luncheon. To raise money for the foundation, designers and companies from all over are donating fantastic items to raffle at the luncheon. They are raffling off all kinds of fashion and jewelry items like a Hermes Birkin Bag, a Jeffrey Rackover necklace (valued at $20,000), $2,500 to spend at Oscar de la Renta as well as tickets to the Oscar de la Renta fashion show. They are also raffling off tickets to the MTV Music Awards, Dinner at Rao's, $5,000 gift certificate to Bergdorf Goodman among many other great prizes. The luncheon is on April 28th, 2011 and we have created a video of all the designers and raffle items. The video will be shown at the beginning of the event. The video is coming soon!

Zatarains Visits the NYSE to Celebrate Mardi Gras!

Zatarains, a producer of New Orleans styled food, walked the floor of the New York Stock Exchange to celebrate Mardi Gras. The traders were given masks and beaded necklaces while live music played. Zatarains and parent company, McCormick, rang the bell remotely from New Orleans.

The swimsuit models of Sports Illustrated along with Mark Ford, President of Time Inc. Sports Group, visited the floor of the NYSE and rang the closing bell. The traders swarmed as the models walked the floor and had their photos taken.

The 2011 Swimsuit Cover model is Irina Shayk, a Russian model who has been appearing in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit since 2007.

Dr. Oz and the AHA visit the NYSE

In honor of American Heart Month, Dr. Mehmet Oz and the American Heart Association rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange. Dr. Oz is the vice chairman and professor of surgery at Columbia University in addition to a best selling author and the host of The Dr. Oz Show, a nationally syndicated television talk show. On the floor, Dr. Oz provided tips on how to maintain a healthy heart.

YouHere Productions was there to cover it all! On the floor, Dr. Oz stopped traders to take their blood pressure. After doling out some healthy heart advice to the traders, Dr. Oz gave us an interview. He says that heart disease is the number one cause of death in America. During the interview, Dr. Oz told YouHere that America needs to get its blood pressure down. He says, "When you are in a place like this [The New York Stock Exchange], it's sometimes difficult. Your blood pressure should not be market dependent. You've got to be able to get it down and keep it down." After Dr. Oz gave us some important guidance, he finished the afternoon by ringing the closing bell.

Pepsi Co. Tailgate for the Superbowl on Experience Square

Pepsi Co. hosted a Superbowl Tailgate out on Experience Square for the employees of the Stock Exchange as well as rang the closing bell. The tailgate included football games, Pepsi Co. recipes like Pepsi Barbequed Ribs, Frito Breaded Chicken, and of course, lots of Pepsi Co. beverages.

Sanofi Pasteur and Rotary International Ring NYSE Bells Worldwide

Sanofi Pasteur is the largest company devoted entirely to human vaccines. Rotary International is the world's first service club organization with volunteers working internationally to improve health and sanitation, provide education, promote peace, and to deliver vaccines. Together, the two organizations are working to eradicate polio. When they started, there were 500,000 cases of paralytic polio a year. This past year, there were less than 1,000 cases.

For global awareness of the cause, closing bells were rung simultaneously in Amsterdam, Lisbon, Paris, Brussels, and New York. Landmarks around the world were lit with the End Polio Now message.

Demand Media celebrated their IPO on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Richard Rosenblatt, co-founder of Demand Media and former Chairman of Myspace, rang the bell with his colleagues. Founded in 2006, the company employs a network of over 12,000 freelancers who develop content and video for all of their sites. The list of sites Demand Media is behind is numerous including ehow.com, cracked.com, livestrong.com, answerbag.com, golflink.com, and their most recent addition, typeF.com.

Demand Media has been a huge help in this recession offering editors, copywriters, and video production professionals freelance work.

YouHere Productions is looking for a production intern. Applicants should be detail oriented and motivated with an interest in video. A knowledge of social media is a big plus. The intern will be asked to do a number of tasks like helping on shoots, working on our Facebook fan page, updating our blog and learning to record voiceovers with our voiceover artist. We are looking for someone to come in at least 2 days a week. The intern can spend time learning and practicing on any of our equipment.

Chiquita Banana Visits the NYSE

Chiquita made it on CBS' show, Undercover Boss. To commemorate that, Chiquita rang the closing bell on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Undercover Boss takes a senior executive at a company and puts her/him into the inner-workings of the company in disguise. He/she can see how the company is being run and can take account of where improvements could be made.

It was a very exciting day down at the New York Stock Exchange. General Motors is the biggest IPO of 2010! To celebrate the accomplishment, CEO of GM, Dan Akerman, rang the opening bell. In Experience Square, the NYSE lined up a slew of brand new 2011 GM vehicles. In the above picture, Dan Akerman (on the right), CEO of GM, and Duncan Niederauer, CEO and a Director of the NYSE, enjoy one of the GM cars.

The floor was crazier than we have ever seen it! The floor was jam packed with people and they were all yelling in celebration. It was quite a sight. Have a look for yourself with some of our pictures.

Last night, we shot the General Motors' Banner going up on the New York Stock Exchange facade. The whole process took three hours... YouHere got it down to 30 seconds. Check it out!

New Videos for the New York Stock Exchange

Elizabeth Hurley at the NYSE

YouHere recently shot two new videos for our friends at the New York Stock Exchange.

The first highlighted a special event held at the exchange in which Interbrand, a global consultancy service, joined by the top 100 worldwide brands announced the 2010 Best Global Brands results. The video featured interviews with executives from some of the top companies in attendance as well as some really cool time-lapse video segments of the event.

The second video found us on the floor of the New York Stock exchange with Estee Lauder and celebrity spokesmodel Elizabeth Hurley. They were visiting the exchange to ring the closing bell as part of an ongoing effort to raise awareness for breast cancer. Evelyn H. Lauder, Senior Vice President of the Estee Lauder company, co-created the Pink Ribbon with Self Magazine as a unifying symbol of breast health. Elizabeth Hurley and the New York Stock exchange were participating in an effort to promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and YouHere was there to capture it all and do our part to help the cause!

Boccia Bros: Hollow Kick Molding

HOLLOW KICK MOLDING is a linear through floor drainage molding installed at the Cove Area where the basement floor slab abuts the interior side of the foundation wall, creating a floating slab. It directs water through the floor and into the drain tile pipe eliminating the possibility of water accumulating on the floor. It also conceals and protects the drainage opening with an attractive cove plate molding.

Hollow Kick Molding is created and patented by Boccia Brothers. Joe Boccia, Vice President of Boccia Brothers, showed the YouHere Team around a construction site where they are installing hollow kick molding in an unfinished basement. To shoot this video, the YouHere team had to climb down a long, rickety ladder to get our hollow kick molding shots. After a muddy morning of shooting at the construction site, we headed to the Boccia Brothers office to shoot our interview with Joe Boccia.

Bagpipers walked through the NYSE floor while an Irish soprano, a step dancing troupe, and a march band played outside. All performers also performed in the St. Patrick's Day parade on March 17th, 2010. Police Commissioner of New York City, Raymond Kelly, rang the opening bell. Antony Gormley, British sculptor, has made his way over to the Big Apple...Madison Square Park to be exact. With his installaion, Event Horizon, he has installed 31 naked men all over the Madison Square Park area. Four stand tall on the pavement (the statues are around 6'2") and 27 are atop the surrounding buildings. It is a little like playing "Where's Waldo?" trying to find them all. Many are located on the historic buildings of the area: the Flatiron, the New York Life Building, and the Empire State Building.

After the long wait from August 2009 when Gormley scouted the area, YouHere got to watch the installation process this past Saturday (March 20th, 2010). It could not have been a better day for everyone working outside. It was beautiful, sunny, and warm. To install the statues on the ground, workmen had to tear up pavement to put the statue in. Weighing in at around 1400 pounds, the statues had to be lifted in by machinery.

Statues were installed on the Empire State Building as well as many other local buildings on Saturday. The statues on top of the 27 buildings are all made of fiberglass and are around 70 pounds.

The International House of Pancakes brought in pancakes for everyone on the floor on February 23rd, 2010. IHOP helps support Children's Miracle Network and other children's charities. Both Scott Burt, President of Children's Miracle Network, and Jean Birch, President of IHOP, were present for the bell. IHOP raises about $1.75 million dollars for children's charities. Olympic Gold Medalist Shaun White Rings the Bell at the New York Stock Exchange

February 23rd was a crazy day down at the New York Stock Exchange. NYSE hosted Shaun White to ring the closing bell. With all the frenzy around this Olympic snowboarder, it was hard to get in there and grab a good interview. Some members of the press even fell down stairs while running after Shaun for theirs. Luckily, Ursula was able to catch up with him. We will have our interview and more posted soon!

Shaun White won gold in the Snowboarding Men's Halfpipe at the Vancouver Olympics in 2010. He is known for his own trick, the Double McTwist 1260. White also competes in skateboarding.

Sports Illustrated Swim Suit Models!

On February 22nd, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Models rung the bell at the New York Stock Exchange and YouHere Productions was there to capture it all! Ursula and Billy interviewed the models and the President of Sports Illustrated, Mark Ford. According to Ford, 66 million people get the Swimsuit Edition of Sports Illustrated! Everyone on the floor was screaming when the models entered. Hilary Rhoda, Genevieve Morton (pictured above), Jessica White, Jessica Gomes, and Irina Shayk along with Mark Ford rang the closing bell. Using Viral Video to Boost Sales

By creating clever Web videos, companies like Smule and Kiva Systems explain their technology to customers and produce sales leads.

When it comes to explaining what your company does, video often speaks louder than words. YouTube demos featuring seemingly mundane products such as blenders and mattresses have attracted hundreds of thousands of viewers online. And getting noticed doesn't require slick production from a professional studio. Even a company on a shoestring budget, using just a basic camera and simple editing software, can produce an entertaining demo that reaches thousands of prospective customers.

FrontPoint Security is one company that is successfully using video demonstrations to expand its pool of customers. The company, based in McLean, Virginia, sought to position its $99 home security systems, which customers can install themselves, as more user-friendly alternatives to systems from companies like ADT. But sales reps found that the message wasn't getting through to many prospective customers, who had little knowledge of how most security systems worked. Last August, the company began posting video tutorials on its website and on YouTube. Since then, the number of monthly sales leads FrontPoint receives from its website has increased 250 percent. Its most popular video, which shows how to install the company's security system in two minutes, has been seen thousands of times.

FrontPoint now posts several videos a month. They are developed primarily by its marketing and public relations teams, which collaborate on scripts before shooting each clip.

FrontPoint has lots of company, as more and more businesses discover the power of videos. Smule, a Palo Alto, California, maker of iPhone apps, produces in-house videos to launch each of its products. Co-founder Ge Wang filmed and edited some of the early productions using a $600 camera from home and iMovie, a free software program for Macs. The company's two demos for its Ocarina app, which lets the iPhone function as a kind of flute, have attracted a combined 1.5 million viewers. One video shows Wang using the app to play the theme from the Nintendo game The Legend of Zelda. The other features several Smule employees and their spouses playing "Stairway to Heaven" on their phones. "What people seem to like about the videos is that they are clearly made by the same people who make the app," says Wang. "Our wackiness and quirkiness show through." The videos' success has translated into brisk sales for Smule. Ocarina is one of the iPhone's top-selling apps, having been downloaded more than 1.5 million times, at 99 cents each.

Although straightforward demos are often effective, using a product in amusing and unexpected ways can pique interest. Most of the videos Kiva Systems sends to prospective clients illustrate how the company's robots, used to retrieve inventory within warehouses, streamline order fulfillment for retailers. But the Woburn, Massachusetts, company also encourages its employees to think of more creative ways to demonstrate its systems, which typically cost $3 million to $5 million. To celebrate the holiday season in 2007, a Kiva employee recorded the warehouse robots moving in time to the march from the Nutcracker Suite. The minute-and-a-half clip generated more than 50,000 views. "When you're talking to somebody about having robots in their facility, you sometimes get a blank stare," says Mitch Rosenberg, Kiva's vice president of marketing. "These types of videos are primarily for fun, but the secondary effect is that people hear about a practical way to use a robot."

There is no sure-fire way to score a hit video, but the most effective demos have several features in common, says Lee LeFever, founder of Common Craft, whose popular "In Plain English" series of animated videos explains complex concepts such as cloud computing and the stock market. "They should focus more on how a product fits into someone's life, not how it works," he says. For instance, if you make software, he suggests pairing screen shots with a story illustrating what particular problem the product solves. In Common Craft's video for LinkedIn, a fictional owner of a small business guides viewers through several of the site's features, which are illustrated with charmingly nontechnical paper cutouts. LeFever advises writing a script in advance, as FrontPoint Security does, to ensure that the video conveys the company's message clearly. He also suggests making the videos as brief as possible, ideally no longer than three minutes.

Sometimes producing an engaging video takes some tweaking. Many services, including YouTube, offer analytics tools that let you see at what points in the video people tend to lose interest and click away. Knowing which parts of the video strike a chord may even help you hone your overall marketing pitch. For instance, Kiva Systems, which uses a tool called Wistia to privately e-mail clips to prospective clients, studies the analytics to see which video segments clients replay most. "If we see that a lot of customers are focused on, for example, energy savings, we'll know to put energy savings first on our reading materials," Rosenberg says.

Ultimately, though, videos can provide value beyond the hard sell. Kiva's video of dancing robots attracted the attention of one of its clients, Zappos, the online retailer, which later filmed a joint promotional video with Kiva at Zappos's warehouse in Kentucky. The lighthearted video, which includes several Zappos employees, stars a Kiva robot that dreams of racing in the Kentucky Derby. Like the Nutcracker clip, the video for Zappos does not focus on the robots' routine warehouse work. But, says Rosenberg, it fills another important function: establishing the company's brand among both prospective and current clients. "It reminds our customers that we're not just a hardware vendor," he says. "We're fun-loving people."

10 Ways to Increase Business With Web Video

Obviously, online video is here to stay. With 79% of businesses surveyed currently employing some type of website video tactic, it's clear that most businesses are beginning to embrace internet video advertising. But there is a lot more that can be done with an online video ad than just sticking it on your website. In fact, if used correctly, a web video will increase your sales exponentially - generally a minimum of 38%, and an average of 71%.

By taking the steps below, you will ensure that your internet video performs more like an advertising agency, and less like a simple website video.

1. Add video to your website homepage - This is obviously the first thing you should do with a video that is designed to generate interest about your business. Many website visitors are looking for, and expecting, a video on your website. And those who are not looking for a video are going to watch it anyway out of curiosity. No one can resist a 'play' button. Place your video prominently on the home page, preferably at the very top, for best results.

2. Use the 'DIME' method: Dazzle, Inform, Market, and Educate - DAZZLE visitors with a professional quality video. A higher quality video adds more credibility than simply you in front of a webcam. INFORM visitors about your products and/or services. MARKET those products and services by including a call to action, and EDUCATE visitors on the benefits of choosing your business to supply their needs.

3. Answer Frequently Asked Questions - You know your customers better than anyone else, and you probably get the same questions over and over again. Those questions that you and your staff laugh about because you get them so much...answer those questions in a short video before your visitor can even ask. Now you've taken all the guess work out of their visit to your site, and they're ready to buy.

4. Product Demos - Whether you sell a tangible product, or an intangible service, create a brief video demonstrating the product in action, or the process of the service. Seeing things in real-life situations makes the idea of utilizing it more real, and many times can also make a complex product or service easier to understand.

5. Post a Tweet on Twitter or an update on Facebook, and add a link to your video in the post. Not only will everyone on your list get the link, but the search engines are now indexing FB and Twitter, so your video will get even more exposure. The cool thing about this is, you can come up with a different reason everyday to link to your video. Or better yet, make it part of a signature that's included in every post or tweet.

6. Create a Squidoo Lens - Basically, Squidoo is a powerful site that Google and other search engines love. The pages (called 'Lenses') can be listed in the search results very fast when created well. This subject is a bit complex, but exploring it further is definitely worth your time.

7. Post to multiple video sharing websites - This is one of the best ways to increase search engine rankings and website traffic. Utilizing a service like Tubemogul, you can simultaneously post your video to several video sharing websites at once. Doing so will give your video massive exposure very quickly, and will also dramatically increase search engine placement due to the multiple sources hosting it.

8. Video SEO - When posting your video to multiple video sharing websites as discussed above, use video SEO techniques. This simply means creating your titles and descriptions using the keywords related to your business that you want to target. Taking it a step further, try creating your descriptions using your most frequently asked questions. This way, when a prospect types in that question in a search engine, it will bring up your video right away.

9. Post comments on blogs with link - Find blogs with a related theme to your business, and post a comment that includes a link to your video. For example, if you were a website designer reading this article right now (as a blog post) you might comment "Gr8 tips on video marketing! I just posted a video about interactive website elements including video. Check it out at (add your website address). Besides exposing your video to a whole new audience, you also generate quality backlinks that boost search engine placement and increase traffic.

10. Make a DVD of your video - Why? Have you ever received a free DVD and not watched it? Probably not. There is a perception of value attached to physical DVD's that should not be overlooked. Spindles of blank DVDs are super affordable, and DVDs can be burned right on most computers nowadays. Prospects can watch your DVD on a TV or computer, DVDs build credibility since they are perceived as 'expensive' and 'quality', DVDs are more interactive and involve more senses than a brochure, and the list goes on and on.

YouHere Productions at Barnegat Bay

This past weekend YouHere had the pleasure of doing a shoot at the beautiful Barnegat Bay in New Jersey.

Billy and Ursula commandeered a vehicle and shot out there right from our main office in NYC.

After grabbing some subs Saturday morning and setting up the equipment, the day commenced under a gorgeous blue sky.

Here is Ursula fitting a mic onto Robert Locandro, before he spoke about the history of the bay and its changes throughout time.

We interviewed a handful of people including Pete McLain about bay traditions, history and science, and Jim Merrit about the importance of education in this environment.

What good production would be complete without some stellar B-Roll? That's right…none.

And all that BEFORE lunch!

After lunch we took a jaunt to the Island Heights Pavilion where we interviewed Mike Borgatti about what makes the bay so unique and why it’s such a delicate environment. We shot some more B-Roll and enjoyed a beautiful day in a beautiful place, sometimes you just love your job.
